I've just read Andrew Doull's post on Ascii Dreams about a certain part of the development process: periodic halts. Sounds familiar...

Anyways, the post made me think about how UR's future might look. What I'd like everyone to bear in mind is that I'm not abandoning the development completely. Yes, I've halted it and I'm not changing my mind. I've been doing slightly better lately, ever since I decided to return to Poland. I'm still demotivated, but at least not as depressed as I used to be. That's a good sign, I guess.

Also, I haven't stopped working on UR, I'm just not coding. I'm still planning things, devising a work breakdown structure, so to say (sorry for the project management slang, I'm dealing with it way too much at work), thinking about the background story and a unique setting, creating a monster list, that sort of things. I haven't revealed any of it so far basically because I prefer not to announce what's not even half coded, but the number of drafts is increasing. I still haven't carved the requiescat in pace on UR's tombstone.

So, be patient. The Kingdom of Darkness shall rise again! (eventually)

Hey, thanks, Darren! It's really motivating to read comments like this!My journey back to Poland is getting closer every day, and so is the day when I resume development :). In the meanwhile I'm preparing a surprise that has nothing to do with coding, but it's still about UR :). Don't ask about the details - you'll see when it's ready :).

Heh, well we all knew we'd be waiting a while for UR anyway. It'll be great to see development start up again though, since just reading about your many progresses was very fascinating. You've done some quite remarkable stuff already, and it'll be great to see a game come out of it all one day.Best of luck restarting in Poland though. Don't let the creative stuff drop off too much to the side. I'm sure soon enough the urge to develop more will overtake you. It takes a lot to kill off a good idea!
